Being able to draw upon such a resource of knowledge and experience within its own group, has allowed BCTQ to develop a specialist Technical Study and Analysis division.
This team carries out a number of technical studies and investigations for marine and offshore clients, including ship owners and operators, port authorities, ship builders, governments and other regulatory bodies, major oil companies and offshore contractors, port designers and operators, insurers and banks.
Formal Safety Assessment (FSA), Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) and technical software development projects form a significant portion of BCTQ’s operation.
BCTQ has developed a range of advanced tools for the analysis of the hydrodynamic and hydrostatic behaviour ships and their structures. A variety of advanced computer software packages are available in-house for use in ship design consultancy, casualty investigation, technical studies and for the preparation and presentation of evidence provided by our Marine Expert Services consultants.
Specialist software development products include mathematical manoevering MATHMAN, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) BASIN and damage stability HYDAS, as well as other software packages.
